2013 was a good year for the production company. Cape Spin! An American Power Struggle premiered at Lincoln Center and beat out the documentary competition at the box-office. Please enjoy the the short film we made of the conquest, set to Also Sprach Zarathrusta, here.
Then came We'll Take Brooklyn. We teamed up with the Irondale Theater Ensemble, to produce a short musical film for the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, making it clear to any business who didn't know already that it was time to get on the train (or bike or ferry) to Downtown BK. The piece was a big hit, playing to crowds in parks and taxis all over the city,
The Partnership for the City of New York liked the film so much, they asked us if they could screen it at their annual board meeting, held at the Barclay's Center. But screening our film wasn't enough - they wanted a live performance, too. We wrote and performed a musical farewell to Mayor Bloomberg, one part roast, two parts melancholy tribute.
He seemed to enjoy himself immensely, as the both print and televised reports recount...
